Target group 435 persons Brief summary of the project The project cross- border impact results in co-operation between Estonian and Latvian similar educational systems, shared best practices and utilisation in developing and teaching juveniles with intellectual disabilities. Mutual output is functional skill trainings to secure self-sustaining independent living situation in community. The project aims to create synergy and advance cohenerence in educational system to disabled juveniles. Mapping and elaborating joint public services to be provided both sides of the border. Elaboration of protected life structure in Võru County, Estonia and Riga District, Latvia. General objective is to support disabled people, especially people with mental disability. To provide equal opportunities in society, functional skill training to secure self-sustaining independent living situation in the community and to maintain those skills. Expected supportive activities are: proffessional teaching and supervison. Establishment of sustainable service network is essential to meet expected output. Sub- objectives: * exchange of cross-border experiences, joint study tours * training of teachers and parents * ellaboration of study materials, translation and publication Equal partners Võru Järve School,Estonia and Gaisma Special School,Latvia participate. Both schools are listed as public equivalent bodies and provide services to juveniles with moderate and severe disabilities.
